There is one simple rule for worthy causes before I give money. No government funding.

Beyond a local scale, there just aren't that many.

I've found very few that meet my rule.

Ontario Consultants on Religious Tolerance
www.religioustolerance.org
OCRT is unique because their essays are written from a civil rights viewpoint. They go out of the way not to proclaim any one religion right or wrong. I’ve never seen it done elsewhere.

This makes them THE single best resource on different religions and faiths. They report, they do not advocate anything except human rights.

Because OCRT is Candian based, contributions are not deductable under the U.S. tax code. Still, they deserve support.

Hillsdale College

❝Hillsdale College is widely recognized as one of the finest, private liberal arts colleges in America.

Hillsdale does not accept federal or state taxpayer funding for any purpose, including student financial aid. Abiding by the motto, “Pursuing Truth and Defending Liberty Since 1844,” the College upholds its independence with the help of private funding—gifts, pledges, planned gifts and grants—that provides gift income to meet annual expenses not covered by tuition revenues and endowment earnings.

You can help ensure that this unique college exists for generations of students yet to come, whether you choose to get involved or are looking for ways to give. Please join us in our noble mission.❞
.

Yes. That's it. But I'm always looking for more.
